E-Data Corporation

am-nes-ty (am'ni-ste) n. [Lat. amnestia < Gk. amnestos] A pardon granted to a number of offenders.

What does the Amnesty Program mean to my company?

E-data Corporation is suspending all new legal recourse and litigation activity from June 1, 1996 through August 31, 1996. We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity that we are extending to all companies that are engaged in any aspect of electronic distribution.

Within the amnesty period, low cost sliding scale licensing plans are available. Additionally, we will forgive potential past infringment damages for new licensees. Please see if our offer of Amnesty applies to you.

How do I know whether my company may be infringing on the E-dataSystem U.S. and corresponding foreign patents?

Our patent counsel has advised us that a company may be legally infringing if it is involved in activities that fall within the scope of at least one of the claims of the patents in order to promote or engage in on-demand or pay-as-you-go electronic distribution. To assist you in making this determination, the entire text of our U.S. patent is enclosed. Additionally, the claims of the patents are explained in non-legal terms on the inside cover of this portfolio.

In general, companies engaged in the following activities may be legally determined to be contributory infringers:

E-data invites you to take advantage of this Amnesty offer if you believe that you are currently involved in or contemplating entering into any of the above activities.

We would much rather license than litigate. However, we will enforce our patent rights through whatever legal means are available to us.
